ABOUT ME /LAUNCHED 09.18.03

I’m Logan Daubel, I am a product designer  with an intense fascination, an obsession, with all things rockets and space. However my major may say I’m a designer however it does not define my capabilities or who I am, my major has taught me many skills but I’m someone who loves to learn anything that can help with a project, having that mindset has allowed me to learn so much more outside of my major. As a personal project I’m currently designing solid rockets and developing a computer system to deploy a parachute at apogee, which is allowing me to combine creativity and technical precision.

I also have hands-on experience with static fire testing, integrating sensors like altimeters, and building systems using relays and electronics. My work reflects a blend of product and graphic designs with engineering, all while being driven by a fascination of innovation and a commitment to solving complex challenges in both aerospace and accessibility fields. Over the past 4 years of a combination of college, client and personal projects, I strive to push boundaries and explore new possibilities in the intersection of design and engineering.

Personal Branding

About Me // 05.10.24

When designing my personal logo, I began by reflecting on what defines me as a designer, noting that my people around me would often refer to me as the rocket/SpaceX kid due to my deep passion for rocketry and space exploration, which inspired me to center the logo around a rocket. I chose a bold orange color scheme, a growing favorite and a nod to its prominence in the space community, paired with a deep black and complemented by a tan border, all for a retro, mission-patch aesthetic. I was able to integrate my initials, LD, into the design by styling the D as a bold, 3D-lettered frame. The text “Logan Daubel, Product Designer” was set in a strong, sans-serif font to convey professionalism, and tie with the boldness of the D. All positioned within the tan border that loops around the design, mimicking a rocket’s exhaust trail for added visual continuity. I iterated on the design by adding subtle geometric details, like the rocket’s angular fins, to enhance its space theme. This logo design process encapsulated my identity as a designer, rooted in rocketry, inspired by space, all while showcasing my ability to create cohesive, impactful branding that resonates with the aerospace community.

Cards // 04.25.25

For the 2025 Senior Reveal at Johnson & Wales University, I designed and 3D-printed a unique set of business cards as a creative way to connect with attendees while offering a memorable keepsake that reflected my passion for space and design. Inspired by 3D-printable kit-cards, I designed the card with a detachable rocket keychain allowing attendees to remove and use it as a functional accessory, blending practicality with my aerospace inspired branding. The front of the card prominently featured my logo, with its bold orange rocket, blacks, and tab border, alongside my name and title, “Logan Daubel, Product Designer,” to establish a strong visual identity. On the back, I included my social media handles for X , Instagram, and LinkedIn  encouraging professional connections and showcasing my online presence where I share projects like Project Pathfinder and CyberJack. Using PLA filament, I 3D-printed the cards in layers to ensure the rocket detached cleanly, iterating on the design to balance durability with ease of separation. This project not only highlighted my skills in 3D printing and branding but also demonstrated my ability to create innovative, space-themed keepsakes that can leave a lasting impression.

Grad Cap // 05.04.25

As part of my 2025 graduation from Johnson & Wales University, I decorated my cap in a 3D-printed mission patch style, celebrating the milestones that defined my four-year journey as an Integrated Product Design student with a passion for space. The design featured my experiences having witnessed two SpaceX Starship launches, Integrated Flight Test 1 and Flight 5, two unforgettable trips that only continued to fuel my love for aerospace, alongside celestial events like two lunar eclipses and one solar eclipse. I showcased my most successful amateur rockets, SN 8 and SN 10, reflecting my hands-on rocketry growth, and integrated my logo, with the rocket trail around the boarder my initials “LD”next to my name and title, “Logan Daubel, Product Designer.” Along the side, I added my age through out school, 18-21, marking my transformative years, resulting in a cap that encapsulated my identity as a space-obsessed designer ready for the next chapter.
